Barracuda Reef ( Boat )
Location: South of Punta Molas lighthouse, to the northwest of the island.

Minimum depth: 69 ft/ 21 m
Maximum depth: Beyond 100ft/ 30 m
Average visibility: Over 100 ft/ 30 m
This site is visited but prior arrangements must be made through the harbor master. There are severe currents in this area, so the number of divers per boat is limited to six and all must be experienced open-water drift divers. This is a flat strip reef sand around, sloping into the depths. The attraction is the above-average chance to see large pelagic, such as barracuda, jacks, rays and sharks. The great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) is the most common species sighted. Diving here can be exhilarating, but hard work.
